Lesson Procedure
- The trainee is presented with three driving scenarios to chose from: left curve, right curve, and dogleg.
- Seated in the pushback tractor cabin, the trainee drives each maneuver in full manual mode, steering the tractor and towbar along the required route without assistance.
- After each run, performance is scored on path following, target accuracy, and distance driven; a detailed score breakdown is available for review.
- A minimum score of 85 per scenario is required; failed scenarios can be retried, and the exam is complete once all three are passed.
- If the towbar enters the no tow zone at the nose gear, a jackknife occurs, or the tractor deviates far off course, the attempt is stopped and must be restarted.
